Ever since I was little, I've always loved reading books. I loved losing myself in a world of ink and paper and exploring far off worlds from the comfort of my favorite reading chair. Since I started reading when I was 3 years old, my dad promised me that he would buy me any book that I wanted. By the time I reached grade school, I had read almost every children's book in our local bookstore and had moved on to the classics section. My complete love for books has instilled in me a love of learning and an insatiable curiosity. It has made me into the introspective, bookish person that I am today.

One of the biggest factors that has made me the person I am today is Mount Saint Joseph Academy. Before coming to this school, I was a shy, confused girl. Thanks to the faith and support of the Mount community as well as the rigorous academic work, I've developed a deeper faith and spirituality and become better at managing my time. What's more, the totally awesome friends I have made during my years at the Mount have helped me to become the confident, charismatic, and well-rounded person that I am today.

Finally, I have to cite my family as a huge factor that made me the person I am today. Both of my parents are very smart, hard-working, and grounded, and I believe they have passed those qualities on to me. Not all the qualities I've inherited from my parents are good though; I have the same bull-headed stubbornness and desire to get my own way that my Dad has. In addition to my parents, growing up with three brothers had made me a bit of a tomboy. Because of my brothers, I've become the antithesis of a girly-girl.
